Your Odoo company is securely connected
Complete Odoo tutorial
Connect Odoo to SellViaApp, step by step.
Follow this guide in order. Every stage tells you what to click, what the connector sends and what you should see before continuing.
Odoo × SellViaApp
At the end of this guide
Products, categories, images and stock reach the mobile app
Selected contacts receive mobile access
Confirmed mobile orders return to Odoo without duplicates
Prepare both accounts
Confirm the foundations before installing anything.
What to do
- Use Odoo 17 with administrator access.
- Create or open a SellViaApp space of type Online store.
- Give every customer to synchronise a valid email address.
You can sign in to Odoo and the SellViaApp dashboard in the same browser.
Install the connector in Odoo
Add the official SellViaApp Connector module to your Odoo add-ons.
What to do
- Back up the Odoo database and custom add-ons.
- Extract the sellviaapp_connector folder into an add-ons path, then restart Odoo.
- Enable developer mode, update the Apps list, search for SellViaApp Connector and select Install.
The SellViaApp application appears in Odoo and opens one connection page.
Authorise the secure connection
Use OAuth 2.0 Device Authorization: your SellViaApp password is never copied into Odoo.
What to do
- Open SellViaApp in Odoo and select Connect SellViaApp.
- Open the displayed approval page, sign in to the SellViaApp dashboard and verify the device code.
- Approve the request, return to Odoo and select Complete Connection.
The page refreshes automatically and shows the catalogue, customer and order tools.
Publish products and categories
Send the commercial data customers need in the mobile catalogue.
What to do
- Open Sales → Products in list view.
- Use Synchronise catalogue for all new or changed saleable products.
- Select rows and use the focused update when only a few products changed.
Categories, variants, descriptions, references, barcodes, prices, taxes, units and main images are visible in SellViaApp.
Keep stock current
Use the lightweight inventory exchange for frequent quantity changes.
What to do
- Select Update stock for all changed quantities.
- Select products first to refresh only those stock levels.
- Enable automatic mode if you want stock checked every 5 minutes and catalogue content every 15 minutes.
The stock date changes; unchanged quantities are skipped and batches prevent overload.
Create mobile access for customers
Send all eligible contacts or a precise selection without repeatedly resending unchanged records.
What to do
- Open Contacts in list view and select Send contacts to SellViaApp.
- With selected rows, only those contacts are updated; without selection, all eligible contacts are checked.
- Use Retrieve SellViaApp customers to import mobile-created accounts with duplicate checks.
The contact shows its SellViaApp login and synchronisation status. Invitations are sent or queued according to the server result.
Retrieve mobile orders in Odoo
Bring confirmed SellViaApp orders into the sales workflow your team already uses.
What to do
- Let a test customer place and confirm one order in the mobile app.
- In Odoo, run Retrieve SellViaApp orders.
- Open Sales → Quotations and inspect customer, lines, delivery or pickup and payment context.
A draft quotation exists once, and the SellViaApp dashboard marks the order as imported into Odoo.
Monitor and automate safely
Use dates, counters and logs to understand every synchronisation.
What to do
- Review the last catalogue, stock, customer and order timestamps.
- Open the synchronisation log when an item fails or is skipped.
- Never share access tokens, API keys, live device codes or image-signing secrets with support.
The connector remains Connected and no unresolved error is shown.
Validate the customer experience
Finish with a real end-to-end mobile test.
What to do
- Download SellViaApp on Android or iOS and open the connected provider.
- Sign in with the test customer, browse products, verify stock and place an order.
- Return to Odoo, retrieve the order and confirm that it is not duplicated on a second import.
Catalogue, customer access and order return work together from phone to Odoo.
Good to know
Fast troubleshooting
The SellViaApp actions are blocked
Finish the OAuth connection first. Synchronisation is deliberately unavailable until authentication is valid.
A contact is not sent
Confirm that it is an active top-level contact with a valid email address and belongs to the current company or is shared.
A product is missing
Confirm that the product is active and can be sold, then update that selected product.
Images do not appear
Run the catalogue synchronisation, not only the lightweight stock update. Local Odoo installations send images inside authenticated batches.
An order is not imported
Only confirmed mobile orders are retrieved. Check the connector log and retry the deliberate order import action.
Odoo × SellViaApp
Your Odoo mobile channel is ready.
Invite a test customer, place one mobile order and retrieve it in Odoo. This final end-to-end test confirms products, access and orders together.
